8 Things to Do Before Leaving the Hotel Room

Things to Do Before Leaving the Hotel Room

As the vacation comes to an end and it’s time to leave your hotel room, there are just a few things you should keep in mind before leaving your room, that can save you money and stress on your next visit to the hotel.

1. Take a Snap of a Mini-Bar

You don’t want to see unexpected charges on your credit card bill. It can happen if hotel management puts the room damages or mini-bar expenses on your bill. To remain on a safe side, take a quick picture or notify the management for any major damage you find your hotel room. The same rule applies for the mini-bar, a before and after snap can prove that the mini bar was consumed by the previous customer.

2. Take Your Shoe Out of the Safe

A pro-tip for people who always forget their important stuff in the safe. Put one of your shoes in there. This way you won’t get out of the room without your second shoe, and you’ll automatically remember to pick up your passport or other valuables you safely kept in the safe.

3. Peek in the Shower

People often forget their belongings in the shower, so before leaving your room for the final time, peek in the shower or even under the bed for any of your items. Plus, look for the chargers you may have left plugged into the wall outlets.

4. Grab the Free Items

While you are searching for your items in the shower, there’s no harm in filling your bag with the free items and the individual toiletries you only partially used. Don’t forget any other free items like magazines, bottled water, monogrammed pens, or fruits. Just make sure that these things are not the part of charged items.

5. Review the Bill

Hotels often leave folios near your door or slip underneath your door to review. You are more likely to review them comfortably in the privacy of your room, rather than in a busy and crowded lobby.

6. Ask to Stay Longer

At most hotels, the option to check out later is not available until the day you’re supposed to leave. It’s when the administration has the most updated details about which guests will take the room. If the hotel is partially filled then you can ask if you can stay a few more hours.

7. Tip Housekeeping Staff

Finally, before you leave, it’s time to pay some tip. Don’t forget to tip the housekeeping staff before you check out. You can also leave the cash at the front desk, but it’s better to give leave it in the room to ensure it goes to the right person(s). For a nice gesture, you can leave a small thank you note too.

While it is important to tip the housekeeping staff, you should look for quality services as well. When traveling to the mega city of Pakistan, consider booking one of the luxury suites room in karachi, to make your stay an unforgettable one
.

8. Request a Ride

Ride-hailing apps like Lyft and Uber are usually the best and affordable way to get to the airport. Request a ride if you are leaving immediately or you can ask the hotel to call a taxi, but you may have to overpay for a hotel car service.

Whether you are staying in a regular room or a business room in karachi or any other city of Pakistan, keeping check of your things is essential. This way, you won’t leave your things behind and someone else may not steal them either.
